England Woman's Day Flowers
International Woman's Day in England is celebrated on the 8th of March. It is a major day of celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women. It is a tradition in England that men honour their mothers, wives and girlfriends with flowers and other small gifts.
International Women's Day has been observed since in the early 1900's, a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world, that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies.
Although International Woman's Day started as a political event in the early 1900s, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries, including the culture of England. Over the years, International Woman's Day lost its political tangent, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love to the women around them in a way somewhat similar to Mother's Day and St Valentine's Day.
